greenbacks

I just snapped these up from the Remake shop on etsy. Perfect for this green-obsessed spot. Here's the shopkeeper's description (made my mouth water): these are printed in avocado, lime, olive, kelly green, pearl green and mint ink onto a white permanent adhesive label with rounded corners. Please note: These are silk-screened so there may be some variation in colors throughout the labels...adding to their charm. The labels are recycled word processor labels. Printed with a gocco machine.

Okay, there may be some variation in color, but we're talking variations in the key of green, thank you very much.

I bought these as well - a slightly larger version. Why not?

from mayfair to mais oui

If only for the fab green cover, this delightful book is worth your time. But the filling...yum.

After working in the fashion industry for ten years, Rose Carrarini founded London's renowned delicatessen Villandry in 1988. This 'epicerie fine' in Marylebone inspired many other food places in London. In 2002, along with her husband Jean-Charles, she opened Rose Bakery, a small bakery, shop and restaurant in Paris, where she continues to practice the art of simple food made with care and attention to flavor. In recent years, she opened the sister restaurant, Rose Bakery, on the top floor of the fashion center Dover Street Market in Mayfair, London.

The exquisite photographs capture the beauty of the mundane goings on of the Rose Bakery. The author's story is a tale of a woman who loves food and people. Rose Carranini's sense of purpose and commitment to quality and sustainability is impressive and her affection for her patrons is palpable. And the recipes themselves are superb! Ms. (Mme.?) Carranini generously reveals her professional (and life) secrets: always buy fresh, seasonal and local; use organic and sustainable when possible and, remember, the most important ingredient is love.

It's likely that you've already seen this image from Anthropologie's fall catalog (since the folks who read my bloggies tend to score high on the Anthrop-obsessed index). But another look (or two or ten) won't hurt. Right?

tord, you wonderful you

:tord boontje

Talk about visual entertainment--it doesn't get better than this. It's worthy of multi-posts; must hang it on (in?) some of the other blogs.

Please e-me or leave a comment if you want to know more about this little (green, bejeweled) beauty. (As a relative-newbie-to-the-world-of-blogging blogger, I've not yet figured out how to post a link that takes you directly to the source-site. Any help from readership on that front would be most welcome.)
